“I begin, even when I don’t know where I am going. I bloom when I remember my roots.” Bloom is a visual meditation on self-growth, memory, and the ever-evolving nature of identity. It treats the mind like a garden—where thoughts are seeds that, when nurtured, can blossom into something beautiful or become tangled like
weeds. Inspired by my original poem, this work reflects the ongoing process of transformation and creative becoming. Through collage, video, and floral motifs, Bloom is rooted in the belief that growth often begins in uncertainty. Remembering our roots becomes the first act of blooming. The piece invites viewers to reflect on what it means to tend to your inner world—to revisit your beginnings, to self-nurture, and to embrace the cycles of becoming. This work embodies what growth has looked like for me: overwhelming, unclear, but ultimately beautiful. As I’ve grown into myself—personally, creatively, and artistically—Bloom became a space to honor the vulnerability and beauty in simply beginning.
