The DMA Summer Institute is a two-week program introducing design practices in the contexts of print, net, worlds, and motion. Broadly addressing a common theme, all four classes contribute to the creation of an integrated, multi-media exhibition at the end of the program.
This year’s theme is “Dreams”. Summer has always been associated with possibilities and daydreams. Dreams are often seen as a window into the subconscious mind, reflecting our thoughts, emotions, desires, and fears. Dreams can also represent our aspirations, hopes, and goals in life. Beyond the personal experience of dreams, we can also say that science fiction and fantasy present our collective and cultural dream worlds.
This event is held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on the last day of the program, Friday, July 21 in Room 1250 Broad Art Center. Family and friends are encouraged to attend.
