DECENTRALIZING THE WEB : PANEL 001
November 17th, 6 pm - 8 pm | EDA , Broad Art Center

voidLab presents a round table on pornography, online autobiographies and the ethics of live cam labor, asking - has the internet been successful in decentralizing the gaze?

A conversation between :

Aria Dean, Rhizome
Chelsea Jones + Eva Sealove, @lookatthispussy
Dorothy Howard, Arachne + UCSD Phd student
Kristin Cornelius, UCLA Information Science PhD candidate

with poetry by Jasmine Nyende

Decentralizing the Web cultivates critical evaluations of online presence through an intersectional feminist lens. Panels aim to untangle the psycho-social implications of identity politics on the global web, examining the embedded biases driving dominant modes of representation in digital spaces.
