Design for Visual InformationNovember 3, 2003, 3:00 pm »
Wayfinding is a key element of a safe, reliable but also happy environment, especially in airports, train stations, hospitals and along our roads and streets. Paul Mijksenaar, a visual information designer and founder of Bureau Mijksenaar in Amsterdam and New York, will show how WaySigning as he calls his trade, can help to reduce our stress and fears in normal life. Recently, Bureau Mijksenaar designed a new signage system for three major New York airports. Professor Mijksenaar is currently in town consulting on the set for Steven Spielbergs upcoming film Terminal, which is completely shot in an airport, and for which Mijksenaar designed the airport wayfinding system.
