METAMATIC

Metamatic explores the tradition of kinetic art, assemblage and digital/analog hybrids. The participating artists situate the vernacular as a site of address, one to celebrate in its marginalization while at the same time using it to expound on transmutation, automation and social critique. The title of the exhibition, Metamatic, is a reference to Jean Tinguely’s series of generative artworks made in the 1950s.

Organized by Neil Mendoza (MFA '16) and curator Paul Young, it features Neil's work alongside Will Wharton (BA '18), Jonathan Moore (MFA '18), Graham Akins (MFA '20).

Opening February 15th and is up until March 16th at Ctrl Gallery, 945 Chung King Rd, Los Angeles, CA 90012.
