Content is Relative: A Social Portrait
Book Launch
Thursday January 9th, 7:30 - 9:30 pm
A Social Portrait in Writing is Content is Relative’s first venture into publishing. Consisting of twelve collected essays from an international group of artists, writers and general cultural observers, the book offers loose cultural critique grounded in casual observational research. Consider the essays as brief moments of saturation or rumination in the typically discarded and overlooked pocket lint of contemporary culture. This social portrait manifests through a wide array of subjects: Outback Steakhouse, billionaire neuroticism, commuter catharsis, slow-rusting liquids, post-salvia Miley, meat discoloration and Nine Inch Nails t-shirts.
Contributors include: Emily Anne Kuriyama, Mary Clark, Peter Linden, Lesley Nicole Braun, Lucy Chinen, Chris Coy, Deanna Havas , Jesse Stecklow, Audrey Moyer, Christine Annette Jackson, Nick Faust and Spencer Longo
A select number of publications will be available for sale at the release party.
