Spring is an animated short film starring a little mouse (named Spring) who I designed earlier this year for a small assignment in another class. I instantly fell in love with Spring and wanted to craft a story around him and his love for music and the arts. While drafting this project, I had taken inspiration from my own experiences in loving art and learning to love and accept the goofy and silly parts of myself, even when they create a distance between myself and the people around me. I also wanted to explore the intimate feeling of finally finding someone who understands and accepts you, quirks and all. With the look of this film, I wanted to take inspiration from late 1990s and early 2000s cartoons, as those were the source of some of my earliest interests in animation.
