SymposiumApril 19, 2008, 3:00 pm »
Among the artists who will introduce their work at the Symposium is celebrated Dutch filmmaker Guido van de Werve one of the preeminent artists of his generation. Guido has recently been nominated for the Prix de Rome.
Another guest is Marco Schuler, a sculptor and conceptual film-maker from Germany. The third featured artist, Marina Abramovic, the grande dame of performance art. This Los Angeles premiere is not to be missed.
Finally, a collection of 20 films by different artists of the ‘60s called Identifications will show the seminal works of some of the most important conceptual artists from the ‘60s shot by German cameraman Gerry Schum.
This is a unique opportunity to see this seldom seen compilation and is an absolute must for every student of the form. (Featuring among others work by Joseph Beuys, Gilbert & George, Gino de Dominicis, Ger van Elk and Richard Serra.)
