UCLA, Counterforce Lab invites you to the inauguration of Biophilia Treehouse, located on the pastoral campus of the Sisters of Social Service in Encino, a ten minute drive from UCLA.

The Biophilia Treehouse exhibition at UCLA Broad Art Center’s Untitled Gallery documents the three year process of conceiving, designing and building this living sculpture that has been created specifically for the health of Los Angeles birds.

Please come celebrate the completion of our first Biophilia Treehouse. We have two exciting events to commemorate our story over the past three years in designing and constructing the treehouse.

Biophilia Treehouse Exhibition
Opening: Thursday, April 27, 5-7pm | Closes: Thursday, May 18, 2023

Gallery hours: 9am–5pm. Free and open to the public

This exhibition will include photographs, maps, 3D printed sculptures, and more which reveal the full vision and story of the Biophilia Treehouse. Check out the work of Counterforce Lab in designing spaces which foster multispecies justice and the co-creation of community with birds.

Join us in welcoming the Biophilia Treehouse to the land of the Sisters of Social Service. This event is the culmination of a multi-year effort to design and build a prototype. Iteratively, Biophilia Treehouses will connect threatened bird ecosystems and underserved communities across Los Angeles.
