Final reception for D|MA Summer InstituteAugust 5, 2005, 5:00 pm »
On behalf of the chair of the department, Victoria Vesna, please join the Design | Media Arts Department for the final reception for the Summer Institute this Friday, August 5, from 5-6 p.m. in the EDA.
The Summer Institute is designed for high school students who are interested in exploring their creative potential by learning techniques using the most current software and working with trained and experienced instructors and professionals in the field. Students not only develop pieces that can be submitted for applications to college but also earn one unit of college credit for attending class. At the end of the class, students will have the ability to create their own online portfolio to show friends and family, and to use in high school and college arts admissions applications.
Each workshop lasted one week, and students had the opportunity to learn: digitial photo and print design, web design and programming, game design for the web, and /or digitial video and sound design.
Every Friday we celebrate the success of the workshop by showing student work and awarding the top students in each class. Please join us for the last reception so you can see the amazing work created by these young artists.
