Melissanthi Saliba

Melissanthi is a media artist and theorist exploring cultural phenomena and practices in urban environments. Interested in the idea of psychogeography and human flows, she has focused on the documentation of open-air cultural practices and their relation to urban history. Her video documentary “Open-Air Cinema: The Urban Machine”, created in collaboration with Yiannis Christofides, has been presented in Greece and Sweden. Using video as her platform, she involved in experimental theatre performances that integrate multiple media forms. Melissanthi came from Greece, where she received her bachelor in Media and Cultural Studies from Panteion University, to join the graduate program of Design | Media Arts at UCLA. Currently, she is trying to develop a playful dialogue between video projection, space and physical objects.
