Jesse Fleming

Jesse Fleming is a video, image, and sound based artist designing work to elicit experiences of collective versus independent self, empathy, attunement, and group potential. He’s investigating a quality of non-self-referential experience through a convergence of media technologies and contemplative practices that help lower the perceived boundary between self and other. //// Fleming has exhibited nationally and internationally in Los Angeles, New York, Austin, London, Barcelona, and has created films for the Museum of Modern Art, NY, The Guggenheim Museum, NY, The Getty Museum, LA, The Museum of Contemporary Art, LA. Fleming has held institutional solo exhibitions at 356 Mission Road, and The University of Austin Texas. //// Fueling his media works as a Mindfulness practitioner and facilitator, Fleming has eight years of traditional meditation training and practice as well as a Degree in Mindfulness Facilitation from UCLA’s Mindful Awareness Research Center at The Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior. //// His work is in the permanent collection of The Whitney Museum of American Art and Borusan Contemporary in Istanbul Turkey.
