After you've Registered:
BruinCard & BOL Account
Students are asked to complete and return the BruinCard
application, along with 2 passport-sized photos
to the Summer Sessions office at least two weeks before the start of your
program. This application form
was/will be mailed to all registered students along with a Study List
that informs you of your University ID
number (UID) and Temporary PIN for use when accessing URSA, UCLA's online
records and accounting system.
BruinCards are UCLA's official student identification card. These cards
are used by students residing in the
Residence Halls to access their rooms and the campus cafeterias. Once
your BruinCard is established, you will need to sign up for a Bruin Online
email account, also know as BOL. All that you will need is your nine digit
UID and date of birth. A BOL account is imperative in order for you to
logon to the computers and use server space in the D|MA labs, a must for
all of our workshops. Please sign up for your BOL account prior to coming
to the D|MA Summer Institute by visiting http://www.bol.ucla.edu/.
Flying to UCLA
Students flying into Los Angeles for the DESMA program will be met at
the airport by UCLA staff and counselors.
Students should plan to arrive in Los Angeles before 2:00 p.m. on the
Sunday preceding the start of their
program (i.e., July 10th, 17th, 24th, or 31st). Residence Hall check-in
will take place from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday.
Students are requested to fly into Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
which is located just a few
miles from the UCLA campus. Students will be delivered to the airport
on the Saturday morning
following completion of their program (i.e., July 16th, 23rd, 30th, or
Aug. 6th). Once students have
made their plane reservations, please email this information to the UCLA
Summer Sessions office. |
